A number of Leicester City fans were left amazed by Wesley Fofana’s performance against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United in the Premier League last night.

Although Jamie Vardy and Youri Tielemans got the lion’s share of the spotlight following the 4-1 win at Elland Road, the 19-year-old defender also won plaudits for his display against the Whites.

Fofana, who joined Leicester in the summer for a reported £32million, was named in the starting XI against Leeds for his fifth appearance – and third Premier League start – in blue, taking to the centre of a three-man defence.

The teenager was handed a big test in having to organise the defence but he did well, and even though Patrick Bamford did get the better of him a few times, he was solid for the most part.

The Leicester Mercury gave Fofana 8 out of 10 for his performance, while Whoscored rated him 7.07 – the highest rating out of the Leicester back three.

Here is what some supporters were saying on social media:

Harvey Barnes and Youri Tielemans put Leicester 2-0 up by the 21st minute of the game at Elland Road.

Though Stuart Dallas netted on 48 minutes to give Leeds a lifeline, Jamie Vardy netted in the 76th minute before Tielemans wrapped up the scoring from the penalty spot in injury time.
