Tottenham are seemingly in the market for a new midfielder.
Conor Gallagher is said to be a top target for the north London club, but, by the sounds of things, that deal won’t be easy to do.
Speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Ben Jacobs was asked to run through a number of potential midfield options for Tottenham, and he’s named who is the most concrete target for the north London club right now.
According to Jacobs, Stanis Idumbo Muzambo is the most likely midfielder to sign for Tottenham in the near future, claiming that he expects Spurs to make a formal proposal for the teenager.

Muzambo the most likely midfield signing
Jacobs shared what he knows about the youngster.
“I think Muzambo is the most concrete because Spurs are putting together a proposal but there is competition from Sevilla, and the feeling talking to sources is that Sevilla may be a bit more aggressive and that they may be ahead in that race at the moment,” Jacobs said.
“There might be a sale in January, or it might be a pre-agreement because I think he becomes a free agent in June anyway,” Jacobs said.
“I think that Muzambo is actually going to turn into a formal proposal, whereas I think Itakura is just being looked at.”
One for the future
Muzambo may not make an impact in Tottenham’s first team anytime soon, but he’s certainly one for the future.
Schooled at Ajax, Muzambo has the incredible technical pedigree that you’d expect from a youngster learning his trade at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
He’s already making a mark for Belgium’s youth sides, and at the age of 18, he has so much room to grow and improve.
Ange Postecoglou is the perfect coach to improve a player of this ability, and it sounds as though this prodigious youngster could soon be on his way to Tottenham if all goes to plan.
