Something is not quite the same at Tottenham Hotspur this season.
The mood is not as buoyant as it has been in the recent past and expectations have been lowered.
This could be down to a few factors. Firstly, the delayed move into the new stadium will not be helping.
Spurs fans expected to see their team play in a new state-of-the-art arena in North London this season.
Instead, they are still at Wembley and they even played a cup game at Stadium:mk.
Secondly, the lack of summer business was a spirit dampener.
Tottenham’s squad may be good enough to not need reinforcements but fans love to see new additions and were frustrated by the lack of spending.
Certain sections of the Tottenham fan base believe that this highlighted a lack of ambition to push on and compete with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Also, performances have not been great. For the first time under Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs lost three consecutive games.

Even their wins have been scrappy and unconvincing.
But despite all of this negativity, the North Londoners are still in a good position to push for glory.
Spurs remain in the EFL Cup, their Champions League campaign is far from over despite defeat at Inter Milan, and their league position is good.
Tottenham are fourth – with five wins in seven games – and only trail the leaders by four points.
Things are more positive than it might initially seem at Spurs.
