There may well be a transfer opportunity in the offing for Tottenham Hotspur, with Lucas Vazquez claiming his situation at Real Madrid is ‘complicated’.
The Spanish winger is set to leave the Bernabeu at the end of 2020/21 as things currently stand, with an extension seemingly not in sight at the moment for the player.
Vazquez is a trusted member of Zinedine Zidane’s squad and has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season.

But despite getting decent game time, an extended stay doesn’t appear to be guaranteed for the 29-year-old.
He said of his contract (quoted by Football Espana): “That’s a complicated issue.
“We’ll see what happens. I dedicate myself to work, and in football sometimes it doesn’t depend on just one part. I’m very happy to be in Madrid.”
Spurs were reported by Defensa Central in July to be prepared to offer €16 million/£14.5 million for Vazquez.
A bid ultimately wasn’t forthcoming during the last window, but a potential cut-price deal next month or free swoop in 2021 may appeal to Jose Mourinho.
TBR’s View – A Mourinho player all over
There have been, currently are, and will always be, more glamorous names than Vazquez at Real Madrid.

He is by no means a headline-grabber, but the things you do get with him are energy and total commitment to the team.
Few players work harder than the industrious Vazquez, and the Spaniard is more than happy to fill in at right-back if needed – where he actually does a good job for los Blancos.
Mourinho is notorious for loving players who are all about the team, and Vazquez could be a great opportunity for the Portuguese if his time in Spain is coming to an end.
