The last time Leeds United lost so badly, they went on a seven-game winning streak

Leeds United fell to a disappointing defeat at the weekend. The Whites were well beaten by Norwich City at Elland Road, with the Canaries leapfrogging them into first-place in the process.

The performance was as poor as the 3-1 result suggested. It was probably the worst display from Leeds since the 4-1 loss to West Brom at The Hawthorns back in November. West Brom tore Leeds apart that day and it had many people doubting the Whites’ title credentials.

But here is where Leeds United fans can take solace from that game. The response to the West Brom loss was tremendous. Leeds went on to win their next seven games. The likes of promotion contenders Bristol City and Sheffield United were put to the sword.

Leeds finished off the run with two incredible last-minute wins against Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers, it was the time of the season when fans really started to believe that Leeds could win promotion.

Doubt is again creeping in. But in Marcelo Bielsa the fans must trust. With Patrick Bamford back and firing there is also added goal-threat to this Leeds team.

Who knows, this could be the catalyst for a similar winning streak from the Leeds players. If it is, then promotion will be a near sure thing.
