David Moyes’s West Ham United could struggle to sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who has noted how the former Chelsea player feels about a potential move to West Ham.
So, what has been reported about West Ham United and Timo Werner? Let’s take a look.
Timo Werner stance on potential West Ham United transfer
Well, according to journalist Dean Jones in GiveMeSport, West Ham United are interested in signing former Chelsea forward Timo Werner from RB Leipzig in the January transfer window.
Jones, though, has claimed that the Germany international forward does not fancy a move to the Hammers.
Last month, TEAMtalk reported that West Ham will try to sign the £200,000-a-week striker on a loan deal, adding that Leipzig are open to offloading him in the middle of the season.
Manchester United have also reportedly inquired about a deal for the forward who struggled at Chelsea.
Jones said: “They are looking to explore the situation just in case Timo Werner is willing to come to the Premier League.
“At the moment, I don’t think they’ve had a clear answer on that. But the indications are that Werner won’t fancy it. If that’s the case, West Ham will continue to look elsewhere.
“But, honestly, they’ve got scouts looking in pretty much every top division at the moment because they know that something needs to happen here and they will find someone.”
West Ham United should not sign Timo Werner
In my view, West Ham United should not sign Timo Werner in the January transfer window, even on a loan deal.
If the Hammers are on the hunt for a striker, then they need someone better than Werner, who is not a ‘natural’ number nine anyway.

Moreover, we know that Werner struggled to make an impact when he was at Chelsea. I do not see the German forward doing any better for the Hammers.
Werner made 56 appearances in the Premier League during his time at Chelsea. The forward scored 10 goals and gave nine assists in those matches.
The RB Leipzig forward is struggling in the Bundesliga as well. I would urge West Ham not to try to sign Werner.
West Ham are ninth in the Premier League table with 21 points from 14 matches, eight points behind Aston Villa in fourth.
