The four Celtic outcasts who have two months to avoid the January axe

Neil Lennon could trim the squad in January.

With just over two months remaining until the January transfer window opens, Celtic manager Neil Lennon will be weighing up his options.

Celtic are currently in second place so he might look to do some business this winter. There are players that could join, some who could head out on loan and others who might leave Celtic Park permanently.

Here are four Bhoys who are out of favour at the moment. Unless they can turn things around in the next two months, it could be curtains for their Celtic career.

Kouassi’s time at Celtic is surely up; the club just needs to find a potential suitor. It has nearly been 12 months since his last Celtic outing and time is running out for him to save his future.

The 21-year-old needs a clean break elsewhere. It is not fair for him to be rotting in the reserves in Glasgow and Celtic can do with getting his wages off the books. Unless he has a Jonny Hayes-style revival before January, he could be offloaded permanently.

Jack Hendry

Celtic tried and failed to get rid of Hendry in the summer and he remains at the club. The Scotland international has played just one game this season – coming on as a substitute in the cup.

Despite Lennon struggling for options at the back this season, he has opted for a makeshift defence rather than a Hendry recall. This is a major blow for the 24-year-old – who needs to look for a move to resurrect his career.

Scott Sinclair

Sinclair has been an excellent servant for Celtic over the years but Lennon has been reluctant to use him this season. Admittedly, his performances have dipped in the last 12 months.

The English winger has only been used twice in the league this season with both appearances coming from the bench. The 30-year-old might need to look for a new club in January unless things change.

Lewis Morgan

Morgan is another Celtic winger struggling to oust the favoured starters. Ryan Christie, Mikey Johnston, Tom Rogic, James Forrest and Mohamed Elyounoussi make it hard for other wingers to break into the side.

The 23-year-old has never really got going at Celtic since his switch from St Mirren. After a loan spell at Sunderland last season, Morgan has played just once in the league and it could be a loan or permanent move in January unless he can break into the side.
