Manchester United sunk to a new low today as they were hammered at Old Trafford by a resurgent Bournemouth side.

The Cherries had too much for the home side and United simply crumbled in the rain in front of their home crowd.

Erik ten Hag is now under more pressure than ever, despite winning the manager of the month.

And according to former Red Owen Hargreaves, the fans showed what they thought of things by both leaving early and staying only to boo to voice their displeasure at the club and performance.

Watching on for Premier League Productions, Hargreaves noted the atmosphere inside Old Trafford at full-time.

“Listen to the boos, look at all the open seats. The fans have spoken. The performance was embarrassing and it has been like that all season,” Hargreaves commented.

Ten Hag will be lucky to hold on

Quite what is going on at the once great Manchester United is really anyone’s guess right now.

There are issues all over the place but this performance tonight seemed to be a new low for Ten Hag’s troops.

Ultimately, it is the manager who ends up paying and you would not be surprised now to see the Dutchman come under increased pressure and the Glazers even be tempted to pull the trigger.

It is such a tricky situation for the club. Most would argue it’s the group of players who need weeding out rather than the manager.

But Ten Hag is the man who comes up with the plan and today was on him and his team.

Quite where United go next is anyone’s guess and there’ll be some miserable faces in Manchester this evening, that is for sure.
