‘The dream is dead’: Arsenal fans gutted after hearing Chelsea transfer rumour

Arsenal fans have been left frustrated as Chelsea appear to have had a bid accepted for Romelu Lukaku for two reasons.

Lukaku incoming?

La Repubblica reported last night that Chelsea’s mega-money offer for Lukaku had been accepted by Inter Milan.

And Arsenal fans had two main reasons to feel frustration at the rumour.

Firstly, the fear that their side is just being left behind by clubs who they historically have competed for top four places with.

And secondly they fear that their chances of signing Lautaro Martinez have diminished.

Martinez dream over?

Inter are struggling financially, which has led to claims in EuroSport that Arsenal could genuinely have a chance of signing Martinez.

However, with the money raised from Lukaku’s sale set to be vast, the Italian side should sort out their financial issues.

And it seems that Arsenal’s ambitious transfer plan may well fail now, as Inter have very little reason to sell Martinez.
