Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has suggested to BBC Sport that he felt Leeds United’s fans wanted to wind up Sadio Mane yesterday.
Playing with fire
Mane didn’t have his best day in front of goal and the Leeds fans certainly let the £30 million (Telegraph) Senegalese striker know about his misses.
Mane did eventually score in injury time to put the icing on the cake of Liverpool’s 3-0 victory though.
And Klopp said at full-time: “Sadio played an exceptional game. Obviously the crowd wanted to make him a bit annoyed or whatever but he stayed calm and scored a really deserved goal.”
Wayward shooting
Mane’s finishing was actually far from his most deadly yesterday, as he passed up a number of presentable chances.

The Liverpool forward just couldn’t hit the back of the net for the bulk of the match and it looked as if he would walk away from Elland Road without scoring.
But his persistence was finally rewarded in the final minutes, as the Elland Road crowd dispersed.
Leeds are now still looking for their first win of the season, after what has to be considered a disappointing start to their campaign.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have picked up 10 points from their first four outings to put them right up near the top of the Premier League table.
