A massive rebuilding job is in store at Celtic Park.

Having been unceremoniously dumped out of three cup competitions and failed to land a blow on Rangers in the title race, it’s clear that the next manager will have a significant job on his hands.

At the moment it looks like Eddie Howe will be the new man in the dugout, but what’s less clear is the personnel he will have at his disposal.

While a number of players are expected to arrive, there are several who will be saying goodbye to Glasgow.

Some are set to see their loan deals expire, while others have been linked with moves to big-name clubs.

Here are the players who will be leaving Celtic this summer, and those who could be joining them in heading for the exit door.

SCOTT BROWN

The captain has already confirmed his impending departure. After 14 years and over 600 games, he’ll be leaving for Aberdeen, where he’ll take up a player-coach role under new Dons boss Stephen Glass.

DIEGO LAXALT

The Uruguayan left-back has shown flashes of talent since arriving from Milan on loan, but will return to Serie A after an inconsistent spell at Celtic.

JONJOE KENNY

Right-back Kenny has made eight appearance following his arrival from Everton in February, and the 24-year-old will hope to make an impact upon his return to Everton next season.

ODSONNE EDOUARD

The prolific Frenchman has been linked with a total of 27 clubs during his time at Celtic, including the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Real Madrid. He could be the most high-profile departure this summer, but as yet there is no clarity as to where he’ll be playing his football next season.

KRIS AJER

The Norwegian defender has been one of the few positives in an otherwise disappointing campaign for Celtic, and he’s been repeatedly linked with a move to Serie A giants Milan.

MOI ELYOUNOUSSI

Ajer’s countryman has been on form of late, scoring a fine header against Rangers and an excellent goal in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Falkirk. His second Celtic loan spell is due to end this summer, and the £16m Southampton man could be set to kickstart his English Premier League career.

SHANE DUFFY

A number of Celtic players have failed to perform this campaign, but no-one has been further off the pace than Shane Duffy. The boyhood Celtic supporter has made a number of errors, and there appears to be little prospect of the club seeking an extension of his loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.

LEIGH GRIFFITHS

The striker has endured fitness issues this season and has been far from his best. There is a sense that his time at the club is winding down, and he’s been tipped to follow Scott Brown to Pittodrie.

RYAN CHRISTIE

A player of undoubted talent, Christie had an inconsistent campaign, and the Scottish Sun have reported interest from the likes of Newcastle and Ligue 1 outfit Lille.

VASILIS BARKAS

Brought in for £5m by Neil Lennon, the Greek keeper has failed to convince in his first season. Scott Bain is now considered the club’s number one, and the Scottish Sun recently reported interest from Greek side PAOK.

The likes of Olivier Ntcham, Boli Bolingoli, Marian Shved, Jack Hendry and Vakoun Issouf Bayo are all currently out on loan, and while Bolingoli is unlikely to figure again for Celtic there may yet be opportunities for Ntcham, Hendry, Shved and Bayo.
