Tottenham Hotspur have some very exciting academy products coming through right now.

Spurs’ academy is really producing right now, and the jewel in the crown may well be young Jamie Donley.

Indeed, speaking on The View from The Lane Podcast, Jack Pitt-Brooke has been discussing Donley, and he says that the 19-year-old is widely seen as the best youngster at Spurs, claiming that he spoke to someone a few days ago who actually compared the teenager to Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez.

Jamie Donley has been compared to Julian Alvarez

The journalist shared what he’s heard about this young man.

“Yeah if you speak to anyone who knows the most about this topic they all say that Donley is the best of his age group. I saw him play at the start of last season and my impression is that it’s not clear what position he will play when he grows up into senior football. He’s played up front a lot but he’s not a pure striker, he’s a nine and a half, some have compared him to Harry Kane, and someone I spoke to the other day compared him to Julian Alvarez at Man City who is a striker but takes up a lot of deeper positions as well,” Pitt-Brooke said.

One to watch

Donley is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the coming years.

If he’s being compared to Julian Alvarez at the age of just 19, he must have something special about him.

Alvarez, as many know, is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world right now, and if Donley can go on to become half as good as the World Cup winner is, Spurs will have a superstar on their hands.

The sky appears to be the limit for this young man, and there is plenty to be excited about, that’s for sure.
