Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has now been hailing the impact that Ange Postecoglou has had at the club.

The midfielder appeared on Sky’s ‘A League of Their Own’ and found time to praise his new boss.

Maddison said that Postecoglou was probably the best motivational speaker he’s worked with thus far, and the manager has been captivating this Tottenham squad.

The England international claimed that Ange was quiet during the week but came alive on match day.

Maddison said: “He’s a proper motivational speaker. He doesn’t say too much during the week.

“He keeps it all to match day and match day minus one, but in the meetings when he’s trying to get the lads going pre game he’s probably the best I have seen to be fair.”

Of course, the proof has been in Spurs’ performances this season.

Postecoglou’s team sit top of the league and are now enjoying a relaxed schedule between games.

And fans must feel that Spurs need to make the most of the opportunity this light calendar presents.

Maddison says Postecoglou has been incredibly motivating at Tottenham

Postecoglou will have another great opportunity to rile his side up when they face Chelsea on Monday.

The fixture has always been an explosive one over the years.

And whilst the manager will want his players brimming with motivation, he will need to get the balance right.

The game will of course see Mauricio Pochettino return to Spurs in Chelsea colours as well.

There’s certainly a lot riding on the game for Postecoglou and Tottenham, and the manager will need players like Maddison and Son Heung-Min on form.

Despite the light schedule mentioned, Ange will also need to lean on his whole squad in the coming weeks.

However, Postecoglou is now said to have lost faith in his midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

Reports in Spain have now insisted that the manager no longer has confidence in the Argentinian.

And if those reports are to be believed, then Spurs’ squad is looking thinner by the day.
