Liverpool fans have been responding immediately on social media as owner John W. Henry issued an apology and statement in line with the failed ESL.
Liverpool became the latest club to drop out late last night as all six English clubs pulled the plug on the deal to join the controversial European Super League.
The Spanish and Italian clubs seem to be holding firm for now, while the ESL itself believes it can still work. But for English fans and clubs, the ‘dream’ is over for now at the very least.

One of the big issues a lot of Liverpool fans had was the lack of apology last night. But Henry, in fairness to him, has issued a statement of just over a few minutes long to apologise and try to explain his reasoning to Reds fans.
As always, the Twitter world has been reacting to his comments and it’s safe to say the Liverpool fanbase is split on this one.
Here, then, is a look at what some Reds fans had to say in response to John W. Henry’s apology and statement.
