The 3 best Liverpool players of 2020, including £20m signing

To say Liverpool enjoyed a stellar 2020 would be something of an understatement, given the Reds finally landed the Premier League title.

Jurgen Klopp’s men powered their way to glory on the domestic front and while they couldn’t quite replicate that form in Europe, the Reds strengthened their position as one of the world’s best teams.

A number of players enjoyed quite brilliant seasons at the back end of last term and have continued that into the current campaign.

In fact, choosing just three Liverpool players as the best of 2020 is a pretty hard call, given the amount of outstanding performances delivered so consistently from so many.

But, we’ve given it a go here, with our THREE best Liverpool players of the last 12 months.

Jordan Henderson

Mr Liverpool himself, Henderson has excelled himself even by his own high standards in the last year. A £20m signing in 2011, he now looks an absolute steal nearly a decade down the line.

He’s become synonymous with everything good about this Liverpool team and when he doesn’t play, there is a noticable drop in intensity and performance levels from the Reds.

Henderson has been simply brilliant and was rightly put forward into the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards last week.

Mo Salah

You almost run out of things to say about Mo Salah. The Egpytian has already hit 16 goals in all competitions this season to follow up on the 23 he scored last term. Ten of those 23 coming in the calendar year (in the league).

Salah is arguably the best attacking player in Europe on his day and certainly, in the Premier League, not many can touch him.

Talk at the moment of him potentially leaving is hard to swallow for Reds fans. It would be a grand shame to see him move on.

Andy Robertson

It could be one of about six players for this final slot, but Andy Robertson just takes it.

The likes of Gini Wijnaldum, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold all deserve a mention, while Sadio Mane has been absolutely superb once more.

But Robertson has proven that as a left-back, you can have such a big influence. Like Henderson, Liverpool notice when he isn’t there and he’s gone from strength to strength under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp.
