Leeds have enjoyed an explosive 2020 where they propelled themselves back into the Premier League and continue to catch the eye with their high-intensity way of playing.
Marcelo Bielsa was the man to finally end the Whites’ exile from the top-flight in England and since their return, Bielsa has stuck to his guns with mixed success in terms of results.

Goals are no problem, however, Leeds do seem easy to score against at Premier League level which will be a worry for Bielsa.
But all in all, 2020 has been a fine year for Leeds and some of the players within the squad. And while a case can be made for a number of Whites stars to be named the best player throughout the year, a few have stood out just that bit further.
With that, here’s a look at our THREE best Leeds United players of 2020.
Kalvin Phillips
Where else would you start with this other than Phillips? The Leeds midfielder has been nothing short of sensational and has continued his fine form in the Premier League.

An England call has been Phillips’ reward for those performances and his absence is more than noticeable when he is missing for the Whites.
No player has summed up everything Leeds have been about more than Phillips and his 2020 has been a truly exceptional one.
Luke Ayling
Once of Yeovil Town, few would have had Ayling down as a Premier League regular and not just that, but someone who can fill in across the defensive line for Marcelo Bielsa.
Ayling is loved by those inside Elland Road and he, more than most, will be missing the Leeds faithful inside the ground.
The right-back deserves his mention here and his story really is a fairytale.
Patrick Bamford
There’re a number of players who could complete this list. Matheusz Klich has been great, Jack Harrison has been a big threat, and Stuart Dallas remains one of the unsung heroes in the Leeds XI.

But Patrick Bamford deserves a nod given how he has adapted to the Premier League when so many doubted him. Indeed, not even the arrival of £26m man, Rodrigo Moreno, has usurped Bamford.
Nine PL goals (at the time of writing) is impressive and he’s proven himself a worthy striker at the top level.
