Everton are enjoying a fine finish to 2020 after a summer of excellent business has seen Carlo Ancelotti given a squad capable of challenging for the top four.

The Toffees finally got it right it seems in the market after one or two big-money players from previous windows didn’t quite live up to the hype.

Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure have added steel to the midfield, while James Rodriguez has brought genuine star power to the table. Add to that the likes of Lucas Digne, Dom Calvert-Lewin, and Richarlison all improving and kicking on, and it looks like 2021 could be a good one for Everton.

But picking just three out of the calendar year as the best is no easy feat, although the last few months have helped some players considerably.

With that, here’s our selections for Everton’s THREE best players of 2020.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

You can’t not include Calvert-Lewin on this list, if anything for his blistering start to this season.

13 goals last season have been followed up with 11 already this term and he’s now a ready-made back up or replacement for Harry Kane at international level as well.

Signed for peanuts from Sheffield United, Calvert-Lewin’s rise under Ancelotti has been remarkable and he’ll only get better heading into the next few years.

Michael Keane

Eyebrows were raised when Everton paid around £30m for the former Manchester United youngster.

However, since then, Keane has gone on to become a stalwart at the back for the Toffees and it’s very much a case of Keane plus one for who the central defensive pairing is.

Keane, 27, has played in all 14 games this term while he made 31 PL appearances last season. A fine defender, Keane now looks very much like money well spent for the Toffees.

Richarlison

Another player whose fee raised questions but the Brazilian is now stepping up to the plate as one of the best wide forwards in the Premier League.

He might only have two goals this term, but he’s integral to how Everton play and like so many top players, his absence is noticable when he isn’t in the starting XI and playing off of Dom Calvert-Lewin.

13 goals last season was not to be sniffed at and at just 23, Richarlison is only going to improve more and more under the guidance of an experienced coach like Ancelotti.
