'That's what we want': Some Arsenal fans agree with Arteta's 'last roll of the dice' amid reports
Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has reportedly told friends that he is in line to star next weekend’s Premier League fixture against Norwich City.
According to the Sun, the 23-year-old shot-stopper believes that Mikel Arteta could turn to the youngster to start against the Canaries. Ramsdale joined Arsenal in the summer, yet the keeper is yet to start a Premier League game.
Usual number one Bernd Leno has been entrusted with starting between the sticks for Arsenal in the opening three Premier League games. However, the Gunners have started the new season in awful fashion.
Arsenal lost to Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City without scoring a single goal. Moreover, the Gunners have conceded more goals than they have had shots on target in the Premier League so far this season.
Indeed, Leno’s performances themself have not been poor. The keeper made an outstanding save against Chelsea, with the likes of Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares and Rob Holding being the main reasons for Arsenal’s leaky defence.
However, Arteta could be about to make a dramatic change in the XI by replacing Leno with Ramsdale against Norwich.
It would be a drastic decision from the Arsenal manager. But with the Gunners desperate for points and for the defence to improve, throwing Ramsdale in against Norwich could work.
And on social media, supporters agree with Arteta’s decision that Ramsdale should start ahead of Leno against Norwich.
Here’s what some Arsenal fans had to say on Twitter about the potential decision…

Would be happy with that, so far so good from Aaron, my goalkeeper ❤️— Seb (@AfcSeb1) September 4, 2021
We need him to start that Saturday.— Manna Eliah (@EliahManna) September 5, 2021
I like Ramsdale and think he will succeed at Arsenal. This is however Artetas last roll of the dice, I believe the rumours about Conte coming in after Oct international break. If the players lose multiple games in September he will be done.— Sam. (@RedWhite_Gooner) September 5, 2021
He really gunning for that no.1— #DjiBreeze FROM Bermuda (@djibreeze) September 5, 2021
