Brighton and Hove Albion defender Adam Webster was left amazed by what Harry Kane did during Tottenham Hotspur’s win last night.

Spurs got back to winning ways at the Amex Stadium thanks to an instinctive finish from Kane in the 22nd minute.

Antonio Conte’s men started the game brightly as they pressed the Seagulls high up the pitch and created some promising openings. Spurs were rewarded for their bright start as Heung-Min Son and Kane linked up once again.

Brighton dealt with a Spurs corner well but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg played the ball back out to the set-piece taker Son.

The South Korean cut inside and appeared to be attempting a shot. But Kane reacted brilliantly to head past Robert Sanchez.

Webster feels it was a moment of brilliance from the Spurs duo and in particular, Kane.

Webster amazed by Kane

Speaking to Brighton’s official website, Webster says Spurs didn’t create any clear-cut chances but feels Kane punished them with his first-half goal.

He said: “They hardly had a chance and even their goal wasn’t a clear opening, but that’s what they can do to you. They’re a top side with great players.

“Kane has proven over the last ten years how good a striker he is and when we slightly switched off he punished us. He scored a goal out of almost nothing, but that’s what he can do to you.”

Spurs started the game very brightly and created some decent openings. Matt Doherty could have opened the scoring before Kane as he got on the end of Ryan Sessegnon cross.

Conte’s switch to a 3-5-2 system seemed to work brilliantly in the first-half but Spurs were pushed back after the break.

Kane has been in lethal goalscoring form so far this season and has already netted eight goals in nine Premier League appearances. The 29-year-old is only behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who has scored a staggering 15 goals already.

Conte will be hoping Kane can continue his brilliant goalscoring form over the coming weeks as he aims to keep his side towards the top end of the table.
