Newcastle United fans have been having their say on social media this weekend after reports linked them with Fiorentina striker, Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbian star has been a standout striker in Europe in the last 18 months and scored an impressive 21 goals in Serie A last season. He is thought to be valued at around £77m by La Viola, although they accept they won’t get that money now.

But The Sun report today that Newcastle could make their move for Vlahovic, as PIF seek a statement signing in the January transfer window.

Vlahovic is the first real big name linked with the club who might actually be a realistic purchase in January. Names such as Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling, for example, are unlikely to come.

And that’s the thoughts of Newcastle fans on Twitter, it seems. The Toon Army seem excited by the prospect of Vlahovic coming to St James’ Park.
