A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Alfie Devine’s inclusion in Spurs first-team training.
The 16-year-old midfielder joined Tottenham’s academy in the summer, Wigan Today claiming the Latics earned a fee in the region of £300,000 for the sale.
An FA Youth Cup quarter-finalist with Wigan in 2019-20, briefly playing against Spurs U18s in the fourth round, the England Under-16 international was previously on Liverpool’s books.

Jamie Carragher, whose son James plays for Wigan academy and came through the ranks like Devine, described the youngster as “top class” and was “gutted” the Latics couldn’t keep hold of him.
Devine began life at Spurs in the Under-18s but it wasn’t long before he began featuring for the Under-23s, boasting four appearances for the latter side.
The teenager made headlines earlier this week when his tackle on Danny Drinkwater during the game against Chelsea U23s sparked a melee and saw both players sent off.
The incident didn’t appear to have put Jose Mourinho off Devine, however, and ahead of Spurs’ Premier League meeting with Leicester, the young prodigy was pictured training with the seniors.
