Liverpool fans are delighted with the news that Takumi Minamino was back in training yesterday.

Minamino returns

Minamino enjoyed an excellent pre-season, but his chances at Liverpool have been hampered with injury this term.

The Japanese international is yet to feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side since the start of the season.

However, he appears to be edging closer to full fitness ahead of Liverpool’s game against AC Milan tonight.

Minamino may now have a chance of featuring this evening, although the weekend looks a more realistic prospect for his return.

Liverpool’s next domestic opponents are Crystal Palace – who Minamino took apart at Selhurst Park last season.

And Reds fans are excited to see the 26-year-old back in action.

Important season

Minamino is actually facing a crucial season at Liverpool now.

After being brought in over 18 months ago, he has struggled to really nail down a place in Klopp’s side.

If he does fail to make an impact this year then his future will almost certainly come into question next summer.

But now he is fit, it will be interesting to see how regularly Klopp considers using him over the coming weeks.
