Everton fans have taken to social media to joyous over the news that Jean-Philippe Gbamin will not require surgery on a knee injury the midfielder sustained over the weekend.
The Toffees confirmed on their official website that the 2019 summer signing from Mainz will not have to go under the knife after a contact knee injury to his medial collateral ligament, raising hopes amongst supporters that Gbamin could be back to fitness for the start of next season.

The 11-time Ivory Coast international has had an injury-hit spell with Everton ever since the 25-year-old midfielder joined the Merseyside club two years ago, with Gbamin playing just three Premier League matches since 2019 following injuries to his thigh and Achilles tendon.
Yet despite this massive injury blows that have seen Gbamin sit out on the sideline almost 18 months, this latest update from the club was well received from supporters on social media, who were delighted that the midfielder was finally on the road to full recovery and that the Ivorian could be fully fit for the start of the 2021/22 season.
