'That would be a superb signing': Graham Roberts wowed after hearing who Spurs reportedly want

Spurs have been linked with AC Milan and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

And Tottenham legend Graham Roberts reckons he’d be a “superb” signing for the north Londoners.

Tuttosport claimed on Friday that Spurs could potentially make an approach for the wantaway 22-year-old.

Admittedly, the Italian outlet suggested this would’ve been the case if Spurs brought Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici to N17.

Celtic strike Premier Sports deal - is this the "additional value" we've been waiting for?

But while Conte is no longer coming to Tottenham, Paratici is reportedly still on the way, according to The Telegraph.

Here’s what Roberts said on Twitter about the speculation linking Donnarumma to the Premier League club.

22 years old, 250 Milan appearances

Donnarumma has already clocked up over 250 appearances for Milan despite being just 22 years old.

The 6ft 5in stopper made his club debut during the 2015-16 season, and made 30 appearances that year.

In addition, Donnarumma has won 26 caps for Italy, and is in the Azzurri squad for Euro 2020.

Despite making so many appearances for Milan, he only has one trophy to show for his efforts – the 2016-17 Italian Super Cup.

“Even better” than World Cup winner

“I see him even better than myself,” 1982 World Cup winner Dino Zoff told Radio Anch’io Sport – via FourFourTwo – in 2017.

“He’s doing extraordinary things, his future is open to a fabulous career.

“Donnarumma’s start really gives great hope.

“My only advice for him is that he remains humble and tries to improve, especially in his technical ability as some goalkeepers forget about [working on] it.

“For now, the outlook looks really great.”

Donnarumma has some staggering statistics to his name.

When you think of a player who’s made 250 appearances for one of the biggest clubs in football, you think he’ll be a veteran.

Donnarumma turned 22 just over three months ago.

His contract runs out at the end of the month and he’s bound to have lots of suitors.

Admittedly Spurs could’ve possibly stood a better chance of landing him if Conte joined.

However, with Paratici potentially coming despite talks with Conte falling through, there might still be a chance.
