Arsenal target Sander Berge could reportedly be leaving Sheffield United in the coming weeks.
According to Norwegian publication VG, the 23-year-old midfield unit could leave the Blades for less than his £35m relegation release clause. Berge is likely to join a club in the top-half of the Premier League.

Despite going down with Sheffield United last season, the 24-time Norwegian international is attracting interest from Premier League sides, namely Arsenal.
The Sheffield Star reported last month that Arsenal were keen on Berge. However, they were not willing to pay the midfielder’s £35m release clause. The Blades signed the midfielder in January 2020 for a then club-record fee of £22m according to BBC Sport.

Arsenal aren’t convinced on Berge transfer update
This update should have been seen positively by Arsenal fans on social media. But, supporters were concerned about the ‘top half’ line in the report, which led to some people believing Berge was off the table for the Gunners.
Arsenal finished last season in eighth place, just four off West Ham in sixth. The 2021/22 campaign will be the first in 26 years the Gunners won’t be competing in Europe. The north London side crashed out of the UEFA Europa League, losing to former manager Unai Emery in the semi-finals against Villarreal.

Yet despite finishing in the top ten, some supporters believe the Gunners won’t be able to sign Berge.
Here’s what some fans had to say on Twitter about the update on the Norwegian player, with a few supporters thinking Berge won’t join Arsenal…

As well as Berge, Arsenal are interested in Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves. The Athletic report that the Gunners are admirers of the 24-year-old and could move to sign him this summer.
