TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy has had his say after Chelsea captain Reece James suffered yet another injury.

The Blues lost again in the Premier League on Sunday. Everton picked up a 2-0 win at Goodison Park and Mauricio Pochettino‘s side are in a difficult position now. James’ injury has made things even worse.

Jason Cundy devastated for Chelsea’s Reece James after another injury

Chelsea star Reece James is one of the most talented right-backs in the world, but injuries have been so cruel to him.

The 24-year-old started the first game of the season but then missed the next seven due to a hamstring injury. He then played five games on his return but his progress was halted by a red card.

The game against Everton on Sunday was James’ first start since his suspension, but unfortunately for him, he had to hobble off the pitch after just 26 minutes due to another injury.

Pochettino confirmed after the game that James felt something in his hamstring, and that is not good news at all for Chelsea.

Speaking about the 24-year-old, Jason Cundy said on talkSPORT: “Can we have a word for Reece James? Honestly, that poor kid, again he walked off after 26 minutes.

“I had to retire early with injuries and I had injuries throughout my career. There’s nothing worse than coming back and then trying to come back again. I feel for him.”

Reece James’ injury history at Chelsea

Reece James is Chelsea’s captain and one of the most important players at the club.

When he’s fit, the Englishman is up there with the best right-backs in the Premier League, but he has had numerous injury issues over the years.

Since the summer of 2019, James has missed a staggering 89 games for club and country. 24 of those have been due to issues with his hamstring.

That is a sad record for someone so young. Hopefully, he can overcome his latest setback and get a consistent run of games once he is back.
