Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio revealed on Sky Sports yesterday that Arsenal have held initial talks to sign Juventus attacker Dejan Kulusevski in the January transfer window. (Read here)

The Gunners spent a lot of money in the summer. No club in the Premier League splashed more cash than them, but it looks like Mikel Arteta and Edu are willing to invest more next month.

Arsenal may have to think about more than just one position. The Londoners will need a new goalkeeper if Bernd Leno leaves, while a new striker may also become a necessity considering that Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette will enter the final six months of their contracts.

Kulusevski is more than capable of playing in the position that Lacazette has occupied in recent weeks. However, is he someone Arsenal should be looking at next month?

Should Arsenal sign Dejan Kulusevski?

Kulusevski is a phenomenal talent, nobody can deny that. The Swede, still only 21, impressed everyone in Italy during his time on loan at Parma, but his luck hasn’t quite been the same at Juventus, especially this season.

The versatile attacker has started just three times for the Old Lady this term. That’s not enough at all for a player as talented as him, which is probably why he is in talks with clubs like Arsenal over a move next month.

Kulusevski, labelled as ‘fantastic’ and as an ‘excellent player‘ by Cristiano Ronaldo, certainly suits the profile that Arsenal are looking for. He is young, talented and has massive potential. He’s arguably as good as Nicolas Pepe already, even though he’s about five years younger.

However, Arsenal fans aren’t convinced.

Arsenal fans react

You would imagine that links to a talented player like Kulusevski would excite most Arsenal fans on social media. However, most of the reactions to di Marzio’s comments haven’t really been positive.

Some fans even think Kulusevski is just another Pepe, a player who cost Arsenal a lot of money but hasn’t fully delivered yet.
