A number of Liverpool fans have criticised Jurgen Klopp’s decision to bring Diogo Jota on so late in the Premier League draw with Brighton.

The Reds went into the game having won four games in a row, including the wonderful 5-0 win at Old Trafford.

And Liverpool began well against the south coast outfit, racing into a two-goal lead by the 25-minute mark.

Mohamed Salah, who has been in sensational form this season, provided a great assist for Jordan Henderson to sweep home on four minutes.

Naby Keita sadly had to make way early on due to injury, but his replacement, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, set up the second goal.

The former Arsenal man’s pinpoint cross from the right flank fell perfectly for Sadio Mane to head home from close range.

However, Brighton halved the deficit just before the break, Enock Mwepu getting the better of Alisson Becker with a long-range shot.

Salah saw a goal ruled out for offside in the 48th minute, before the visitors equalised just after the hour mark through Leandro Trossard.

The scorer then rounded Alisson and rolled the ball into an empty net on 76 minutes, only for the offside flag to save the hosts.

Liverpool’s attack struggled to make inroads in the second half, and Klopp waited until the 78th minute when Jota replaced Roberto Firmino.

However, it proved too little too late, with the Reds having to settle for a point.

Here’s what some Liverpool fans made of the 24-year-old’s late introduction:

The result sees Liverpool fall three points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea, who won 3-0 at Newcastle.
