‘Thankfully’, ‘Good’: Tottenham fans react as Angel Di Maria links played down

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been having their say on social media as reports emerged yesterday linking them with a move for Angel Di Maria.

The Sun, via French outlet L’Equipe, had claimed that Spurs were in the running for Di Maria. The Argentinian has close links to Jose Mourinho and is still one of the top earners in Paris, on a reported £230k-a-week.

However, those claims have been played down by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, who has said that Di Maria is not one of the players Spurs are currently looking at bringing to the club.

Spurs fans, then, have been reacting to the update from Gold on Twitter. The journalist is widely respected by Tottenham supporters and if he claims it’s not happening, then there will be some substance to it.

It’s an update that hasn’t bothered some Spurs either. As the comments on social media suggest, Di Maria doesn’t look like he was the most welcome signing anyway.
