Jose Mourinho will be frustrated that his Tottenham Hotspur side conceded a late goal to let their lead slip against Southampton on Saturday. The 1-1 draw with the Saints in the FA Cup will enforce a replay. It was a tough game for the north London club, but they came so close to victory until Sofiane Boufal popped up to level the score in the 87th minute.

Despite this disappointment, there are some positives for Mourinho to take from the game. Giovani Lo Celso once again shone for Spurs. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Japhet Tanganga stood out at left-back. Despite naturally being a centre-back, the young academy graduate looked comfortable playing out wide. He caught the eye throughout with his composure and impressive positioning. The England under-20 international plays with maturity beyond his years. His recent emergence must be seen as a real bonus for Mourinho.

Following the end of the FA Cup clash, plenty of Tottenham fans took to Twitter to hail the young defender’s display.

Big mention to Tanganga.

What a player. He is going to be a regular for years.
