Lineker names Watkins, Luiz and Bailey as Villa’s impressive players

Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Lineker claimed that all three players have been consistently brilliant for Villa this term.

“Douglas Luiz is a good player,” he said. “Luiz, Watkins and Bailey. They were terrific again and have been very consistent this season.”

Luiz continues to impress in midfield for Villa while Watkins and Bailey provide in the final third.

Despite a slight dip before the last two games, Villa seem to be discovering their best form once again.

With Spurs currently five points behind the Villains in fifth place, Champions League qualification is now technically theirs to lose.

There will undoubtedly be plenty of twists and turns before the season ends, with Manchester United also slipping up over the weekend at home to Fulham.

Watkins currently has 14 Premier League goals to his name and is just one away from equalling his best ever return in the top flight.

Bailey is also enjoying his best season to date with Villa as he’s registered 21 goal involvements in 35 appearances.

As for Luiz, he’s emerged as a real goal threat from midfield having netted 10 times in all competitions.

If the trio continue to play at this level, you’d imagine that Villa stand a brilliant chance of seeing the job through and qualifying for the Champions League.
