Newcastle United are reportedly keen on bringing Anthony Hudson to St. James’ Park as Rafa Benitez’s replacement this summer – but Toon fans are fuming that he is even being considered.
Benitez, 59, was confirmed as leaving The Toon on Monday after owner Mike Ashley and the Spanish boss failed to come to an agreement in which the ex-Real Madrid and Liverpool boss would remain on Tyneside.
TeamTalk have claimed that the 38-year-old gaffer is one manager being considered by The Toon. He is currently out of work after leaving MLS side Colorado Rapids in the summer.

Formerly New Zealand’s manager, Hudson began management at just 30 years of age with Newport County after a short spell with Tottenham Hotspur’s reserve. He was described by Harry Redknapp as “the next Mourinho” (BBC).
An enormous amount of managers have since been linked with the Newcastle job after Benitez’s exit. Claudio Ranieri, Giovani van Bronckhorst, Michael Carrick and many more are all reportedly interested or being tracked.
Newcastle fans have reacted to the news that their club are reportedly interested in Hudson, and the majority are fuming that their club could go from Benitez to a manager that has only worked for New Zealand, Bahrain and an MLS side.
