‘Terrible decision’: Arsenal fans fuming as David Luiz red card stands

Arsenal fans have been reacting on Twitter this afternoon after news emerged that David Luiz’s red card will not be overturned.

The FA reached the conclusion based on the correct application of the laws of the game. However, there’s no denying that the decision is a tough one to swallow for Arsenal given the nature of the incident.

Luiz accidently collided with Willian Jose against Wolves and saw red, while also giving a penalty away. But replays did show the contact was minimal and completely accidental.

The decision today, then, has left a number of Arsenal fans absolutely fuming. It’s been made even worse too by the fact that Southampton’s Jan Bednarek has seen his red card at Old Trafford overturned.

Twitter was full of comments from angry Gunners fans this afternoon, with some failing to understand how the decision can stand.
