Jordan Henderson
Surprisingly, club captain Jordan Henderson may also find himself nearing the exit door in the summer. Whilst his form has not been great since returning from injury, Henderson remains a vital part of Liverpool’s side. However, Klopp admitted no-one was unsellable when asked about the midfielder’s future. If the Reds manage to secure a big money move for a central midfielder, such as Granit Xhaka, Henderson could well leave. Tottenham are rumoured to be interested in bringing the former Sunderland man to White Hart Lane in a deal that could be worth around £25m, according to The Sun.
Christian Benteke
£32m striker, Christian Benteke, seemingly put the nail in his own coffin last month. The tall Belgian publicly spoke out against Klopp which will not go down well with the German. Benteke admitted he would not have joined the club if he had known he would not be starting; which is fair enough but he has not shown enough when given the chance.
The Belgian is not suited to Liverpool’s system but has scored some big goals this season. However, the former Villa striker has missed a host of chances this season and was given a talking to by Klopp following the 3-2 defeat to Southampton. If the right offer comes in, it is highly likely that the striker will be moved on after just one season.
Honorable Mentions
Joe Allen – Rumours of a return to Swansea following reports that Brendan Rodgers will take over at the end of the season. Has impressed following a run of games in the side but is ultimately not good enough to be a first-team regular.
Andre Wisdom – Failed to establish himself as a first-team regular during his loan spell at Norwich. At 22, he hasn’t developed enough to be worthy of contention for the Reds and should find a new club in the upcoming window.
Jerome Sinclair – The young English striker was considered one of the club’s top prospects but has refused to sign a new deal. Watford tried to secure his signature in January and are favourites to land his signature when his contract expires.
Lucas Leiva – There are doubts around Lucas’ long-term future at the club. The Brazilian was close to the exit door before Klopp’s arrival and has found some success at centre-back this season. New signings could see an end to his long affiliation with the club.
