Teenager posts on Instagram after completing move to Nottingham Forest from Leeds, plenty respond
Billy Fewster has posted on Instagram after he completed a move from Leeds United to Nottingham Forest. The talented midfielder was a regular for the Premier League side’s Under-18 team last season. But he has chosen to chance his arm at Forest, confirming the move on Instagram this week.
Still only 17, Fewster caught the eye in the Under-18’s at Leeds and while he never got a chance with the Under-23 side – Forest have come calling. He clocked up 13 outings for the 18’s last season in the Premier League, and once in the FA Youth Cup – scoring in an 8-2 win over MK Dons.
Forest have been granted category one status for next season, meaning they will be playing Premier League 2 football – and in the Under-18 Premier League. That is likely to have convinced Fewster, who is expected to become a regular in the second string. He posted on Instagram after his move.
Chances of Fewster breaking into Forest’s first team after Leeds exit?
Forest gaffer Chris Hughton has a small squad and needs to bring in a few fresh faces this summer in order to cope with the demanding Championship season. Fewster’s versatility, which allows him to play as a holding midfielder, central midfielder or even a right-back, will help.
The likes of Harry Arter, Jack Colback, Cafu and Ryan Yates are the options in the first team. Fewster will be looking to become first choice for the 23’s and then see where that takes him. Plenty responded to his Leeds exit, including the likes of Robbie Gotts, Ryan Edmondson and Will Huffer.
