Tottenham Hotspur do not appear to be following up their interest in goalkeeper Ted Smith, according to a report from the Basildon, Canvey and Southend Echo.
As reported by the same publication earlier this summer, Smith was training with Tottenham on a trial basis. He even played for a Tottenham XI in a friendly with Ebbsfleet Town.
Now it is being reported that Smith is back training with the League One club, although it is not suggested he is re-signing with the Shrimpers.

However, it would certainly appear as though he did not manage to earn himself a contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
The former England under-20 goalkeeper is a free agent having been released by Southend this summer. The 23-year-old was briefly the number one keeper at Roots Hall in the 2016-17 campaign but has more recently been a back-up option. Last season he played just once, in an EFL Trophy defeat to Portsmouth.
With Tom Glover leaving for Australia, it seemed Smith could have been eyed up as a potential development squad stopper. Instead, the former England youth team-mate of Harry Winks is still looking for a new club.
Hopefully, the 23-year-old can find himself a new home soon.
