Arsenal have shared video footage on social media which plenty of fans have been waiting for, namely Thomas Partey holding – and wearing – the Gunners shirt.

The 27-year-old had been linked with Arsenal for a number of months and was said to be one of the number one targets for Mikel Arteta this summer.

However, with deadline day fast approaching, no progress had been made by the Gunners on the central midfielder front, cue increasingly nervous fans.

Eventually, Partey made the switch from Atletico Madrid shortly before the transfer window closed, after Arsenal had triggered his £45million release clause.

The Ghana international signed a long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium after he completed his medical and paperwork just before Monday’s 11pm deadline.

With Black Stars duty coming up, Partey couldn’t stick around in North London, and off he went to play in friendlies against Mali – a 3-0 loss – and Qatar – a 5-1 win.
