For a while, it seemed as though wonderkid of the moment Erling Braut Haaland was going to break some hearts at Elland Road. The Leeds-born strike sensation is a fantasy booking for many Leeds United fan as a long-term West Yorkshire hero. The son of former Leeds player Alfe-Inge, he himself even admitted to Aftenposten his dream of wanting to win the Premier League with Leeds United back in 2017.
But it seemed the goal-machine was on his way to rivals Manchester United. With his former mentor at Molde, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, present at Old Trafford it looked a move to Leeds’ biggest rivals was on the cards. Such a deal would have surely put an end to any future dream of Elland Road worshipping.
However, he ended up at Borussia Dortmund in a deal reported by the BBC to be worth £17.1 million last week.
And here is how Leeds United should use Haaland’s move for their own good this January.

The 19-year-old’s move has made life even harder at Dortmund for talented and versatile forward Jacob Bruun Larsen.
The 21-year-old Danish star is a top talent, capable of playing on the wing or through the centre, but is currently struggling for regular football with the German giants. Haaland’s arrival pushed him further down the pecking order.
So Leeds United should seriously consider a loan swoop for the frontman.
The Whites need cover in attack after Eddie Nketiah and Jack Clarke were both recalled to their respective North London parent clubs.
It would be a perfect move for Larsen, with a promotion fight a great opportunity for him to develop for Dortmund or even earn a permanent move to England. With Dortmund twinned with Leeds, the Whites even have a USP to get a deal done.
It would be a left-field idea but considering Larsen’s ability and versatility in attack, he might be the perfect addition for Leeds United this month.
