West Ham are sat just one point off the relegation zone and are in real danger of going down. They are one of the Premier League’s lowest scorers and could do with a reliable goalscorer to help get them out of trouble – here is why they should consider Wout Weghorst.
The Wolfsburg striker has already scored seven goals in the Bundesliga this season and is proving himself to be deadly in front of goal. He has averaged a goal every two games for the German club and has also provided ten assists since moving from AZ Alkmaar in 2018.

At six foot four inches, Weghorst is very dangerous in the air. He is also extremely mobile for a player of his size and possesses a very good touch. The Dutchman also drops deep to link the play and allow other forwards to get beyond him.
West Ham’s summer signing Sebastien Haller has had an inconsistent start to life at the club. He has scored six league goals, which is by no means terrible. However, for the price the club paid, they will have been hoping for more.

The greater problem for the Hammers is the lack of goals beyond Haller. The club’s second top goalscorer is left-back Aaron Cresswell with three goals. David Moyes could certainly do with adding some firepower to his West Ham side.
Weghorst could thrive off the deliveries of Robert Snodgrass and would link up well with Felipe Anderson on the other wing. Wolfsburg are unlikely to let the 27-year-old go on the cheap, so the Hammers might have to stump up a hefty fee if they do go after him.
