Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton are reportedly interested in signing Sevilla attacker Lucas Ocampos this summer – but Tottenham Hotspur should consider joining the race to bolster Jose Mourinho’s attack.
Ocampos, 26, joined Sevilla from Marseille last summer and has taken his game to a new level. Playing 43 times during 2019-20 for Julian Lopetegui’s side, the Argentina international scored 17 goals and created five.
The versatile attacker – who can play out wide or up front – headed the winner to knock Wolves out of the Europa League in the quarter-finals earlier this month. Now, Wolves are keen on Ocampos – who is rated at £45million.
That is according to the Daily Star, who claim Ocampos could be a replacement for Adama Traore if the latter departs. Everton are also linked – but surely Tottenham should consider bringing Ocampos to north London?

Unlike Everton and Wolves, Spurs have qualified for European football and that would instantly give them the edge if they did join a race. Mourinho needs a bigger squad to cope with the demands of the Europa League.
Even without the Europa League last season, Spurs were down to their bare bones at times. Another attacker, especially one that can provide cover for Harry Kane, would be an excellent addition.
Ocampos – who has the same agent as Erik Lamela according to TransferMarkt – would be an expensive addition at £45million. But for many reasons, Spurs have got to consider the Argentine and beat both Wolves and Everton.
