Tottenham landed some attractive signings during the summer but Hakim Ziyech is busy showing Spurs what they missed out on with London rivals Chelsea.

Way before the 27-year-old signed for the Blues, the tricky wingers was linked with a move to Tottenham, according to the Guardian.

Ziyech caught the eye with some devastating form during the 2018/19 campaign. He fired 21 goals and registered 24 assists as Ajax reached the Champions League semi-final.

Tottenham never followed through their interest though and it now looks like a deal that got away for the North Londoners.

Chelsea landed the versatile forward for £33.3 million in the summer and after fighting off an injury he’s now showing some decent form.

He’s only managed seven appearances in all competitions but has two goals and three assists to his name.

Tottenham will point to the fact that in Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale they already have a formidable attacking force.

Ziyech might have offered something a little bit different though.

The Moroccan is more of an out and out winger who likes to hug the touchline and gets a real kick out of taking players on.

Paid £100,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge, the overall package put together to sign Ziyech already looks like a shrewd investment by Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho will have aspirations of winning the Premier League in North London and for that, he’ll need to utilise his squad.

Ziyech might have provided that little bit of extra quality as the season progresses and they might have missed a trick with the ex-Ajax man.

Supporters will watch his Chelsea progress with intrigue.
