Tottenham may have suffered a poor defeat to Royal Antwerp on Thursday night in the Europa League, but it’s still been a decent start to the season by the club and there has already been some standout performances.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho may have felt a little disappointed by the efforts from some his squad players a couple of days ago, but his best XI appears to be coming together well.
Attackers Harry Kane and Heung-Min are two individuals grabbing the headlines for their heroics in front of goal, but there his another that deserves a special mention.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is someone that may have gone slightly under the radar, as he’s been one of the most consistent players so far and is only going from strength to strength.

Spurs signed Hojbjerg for £15million (Sky Sports) in the summer from Southampton and he looks an incredible bargain at that price.
The 25-year-old central midfielder has quickly established himself as a nailed-on starter, where he helps break up play for Mourinho’s side and get the ball forward quickly to his attacking teammates.
Pundit and ex-Spurs forward Bent was sceptical about Hojbjerg as a signing for the North London club, but the player has made his comments look ridiculous.
“It looks like Spurs are going to sign Hojbjerg from Southampton, this is one for me that I don’t quite get. I think he’s a good player but can he take Spurs to the next level? I don’t think he can,” Bent told talkSPORT2 in August.
Bent won’t have been the only one to question what sort of impact Hojbjerg could make at Spurs, but he’s clearly a Mourinho-type player that is already an important part of the set-up and looks extremely strong in the centre of the park.
There may be other areas of the pitch where they need strengthening to get them over the line for silverware, but they appear to have found a great solution in Denmark international Hojbjerg.
