Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu in the summer, and complete a move to land the highly-rated teenager before Euro 2020 begins this summer – but should Tottenham Hotspur also be interested?

The Daily Mail has claimed that The Gunners are interested in the 19-year-old midfielder, who has starred for Feyenoord throughout the season. He has clocked up 41 senior appearances for the Dutch club, having a hand in 15 goals.

It is believed that the Turkey Under-21 international will only cost Arsenal £15million in the summer, and it is clear to see why The Gunners want Kokcu – given his performances in the Europa League and coping with a change in managers.

Feyenoord changed from Jaap Stam to Dick Advocaat but Kokcu has retained his place – while Arsenal do need additions in the middle of the park. Mikel Arteta boasts just four senior players in that position.

Excluding attacking midfielders such as Mesut Ozil and Joe Willock, Arteta has Dani Ceballos – who will return to Real Madrid in the summer. Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka have been linked with moves, while Matteo Guendouzi has struggled.

Another option in central midfield would be ideal and Kokcu gives Arsenal a player with resale value, a player with huge potential and quality, at a cheap-ish price. But north London rivals cannot let them land Kokcu without putting up a fight.

Just over a year ago, The Mail claimed that Tottenham were interested in Kokcu – and it is likely they could be keeping tabs on the player. Spurs need a midfielder, with Eric Dier, Tanguy Ndombele and Victor Wanyama all struggling for form.

Gedson Fernandes has been signed, as has Gio Lo Celso, while Harry Winks continues to impress. But another option in that role would be ideal and even Daniel Levy should realise that at £15million, Kokcu is a bargain.

Tottenham have got to rival their north London rivals for the signature of Kokcu, with the summer likely to be an interesting one for the Feyenoord midfielder.
