Everton are said to be looking to bring in a new left-back this summer, as a replacement for the retiring Leighton Baines and as back-up to current undisputed starter Lucas Digne.
However, following their expenditure to bring in the likes of Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and James Rodriguez, the Toffees are not looking to spend big money.
So maybe Everton should be considering the younger brother of a former Goodison Park hero?
The player in question is Jordan Lukaku of Lazio.
As reported by Il Messaggero this week, both Leeds and Brighton have made a move for the player, said to be for a figure in the region of £4.6 million.
That follows reports from the Daily Mail earlier this week suggesting that Lukaku is keen on a move to the Premier League and could be available on loan, or for £5 million.
Both would suit Everton perfectly, especially the loan option.
As reported by the Liverpool ECHO, Everton are hopeful of reducing costs by bringing in a left-back option on loan, similar to the deal that saw Djibril Sidibe join the club from Monaco last summer.
A similar deal for Lukaku would be perfect, especially if they included a potential permanent deal should he impress on Merseyside.
No doubt his older brother would have nothing but good things to say about a move to Goodison and Carlo Ancelotti will know of his ability from his time managing in Italy.
As a perfect option to support Digne, Lukaku Jr should be the main candidate for Everton.
