Leeds United have been reportedly told to pay £8million to sign Jack Harrison on a permanent basis fom Manchester City as he continues to shine on loan – but at that price, Leeds cannot be the only club interested in landing the winger.
Harrison, 23, is in the form of his life at Elland Road in what is his second season-long loan spell at Leeds. Under Marcelo Bielsa, he has become a regular – having a hand in 11 goals during his 29 league and cup appearances this season.
Under the watchful eye of many on Monday night, Harrison starred for Leeds as Bielsa’s side came close to beating Premier League giants Arsenal at The Emirates. He was arguably Leeds’ best performer, alongside Kalvin Phillips and Luke Ayling.
Now, Manchester Evening News have claimed that City want £8million for the England Under-21 international. It is believed Leeds will pay it if they gain promotion, but may still make an offer even if their promotion bid falls flat on its heels.
The report states that the £8million fee is an asking price set by Manchester City, and is not the value of the permanent clause inserted into Harrison’s loan. It is believed that City want £8million for Harrison, but not specifically from Leeds.

With Harrison in the form of his life, Leeds cannot be the only side interested in landing the winger at such a small figure. Indeed, his performances have been Premier League-standard and Newcastle United are desperate for a winger.
Allan Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie, Miguel Almiron and Christian Atsu currently provide the width at Newcastle, but the latter is struggling for any kind of form – while the other three have suffered injury issues this season.
The Toon could do with a winger and have been linked with a handful of wide players this window – including former Everton star Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old is believed to be worth a whopping £22.5million.
But signing Harrison at a bargain £8million would not only give Steve Bruce a winger, but one that is young, English and with plenty of resale value. It would also save Newcastle plenty of money, saving money to improve other areas.
Newcastle have simply got to consider rivalling Leeds for Harrison at such a bargain figure.
