TBR View: Liverpool should pull out the stops to sign Paulo Dybala

Liverpool will need to dip into the transfer market during the summer and the links to Paulo Dybala will make exciting reading for the club’s supporters.

El Gol Digital have claimed that the current champions are among a clutch of Premier League clubs vying for his services.

The Juventus man was subject of interest from Tottenham in the past with some reports claiming a bid was accepted.

His arrival in North London never came to fruition though and he’s remained in Turin ever since.

That could change in the summer, however.

The 27-year-old has struggled with some fitness issues and that has meant Andrea Pirlo hasn’t always viewed him as the first choice.

He has managed just two goals and two assists during 2020/21 and Juventus could now be willing to offload him in the summer.

Dybala has scored 98 goals in 244 appearances for the Old Lady and given his age he fits the profile of a Liverpool signing nicely.

Liverpool are in desperate need of some competition in their squad. This season injuries haven’t helped but it’s served to highlight just weak the squad depth is at Anfield.

The likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi and even Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain simply haven’t done enough – although the latter has spent some time out injured.

Liverpool need a game-changing signing to add some serious competition for the front three and Dybala could be that man.

The Argentina striker won’t come cheap. It is claimed that Juventus want £60 million for their striker who earns £225,000-a-week.

Liverpool have relinquished their title with a whimper this season and must act during the summer.

Dybala is energetic, scores goals and is also capable of dropping deep to link up the play. He could thrive under Jurgen Klopp and FSG must land the little magician this summer.
