Everton appear to be on the cusp of bringing in three eye-catching new additions with deals for Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez seemingly as good as done. It seems only a matter of time before this impressive trio are announced as new Everton players, which has fans on Merseyside excited about the future.
However, could it mean the end for one of Everton’s young stars.
When Tom Davies first burst into the Everton first-team fans were waxing lyrical about his bright future at the club.
In particular, it was a goalscoring display as Everton defeated Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 4-0 in January 2017.
But that was the highlight for the young midfielder, who has since struggled to find consistency in an Everton shirt.

His career stalled under Marco Silva and his inability to nail down his best midfield role has seen him struggle to improve on his obvious talents.
Whilst his good friend Dominic Calvert-Lewin has progressed into an undoubted Premier League standard striker, Davies has just never reached the heights of that January 2017 performance v City again.
Too lightweight to be a defensive midfielder and perhaps too slow to be an attacking midfielder, the arrival of three new players who all lay his preferred positions leaves Davies in serious trouble of not receiving regular football at Goodison Park.
He now finds himself set to be on the cusp of the starting XI and with a recent report from the Daily Mail suggesting a £12 million move from Newcastle United might be down the line, Everton might have to ask serious questions about whether or not they keep Davies at Goodison Park.
