Celtic are facing their biggest summer in 10 years as the Glaswegian giants look to appoint a manager capable of wrestling the Scottish Premiership crown away from their rivals.
The Hoops have missed out on 10 in a row to Rangers (whisper it quietly) and whoever gets the job of succeeding Neil Lennon is facing a mammoth task next season.

With that in mind, one recently unemployed manager looks tailor-made to head to Scotland and ruffle a few feathers in both the green and blue halves of Glasgow.
Chris Wilder isn’t a man to sit on the fence. In five years in charge of his beloved Sheffield United, he oversaw a revival of epic proportions and his opinionated views saw him worshipped at Bramall Lane.
The manager won promotion from League One during his first season in charge of the Blades, accumulating 100 points.
During 2017/18, United flirted with the play-offs but ultimately didn’t quite make it. The season after the club secured promotion to the Premier League, finishing in second place.
Last season it looked as though Europe would be on the cards but a ninth-place finish was still a remarkable achievement.
This season proved a disaster and the club recently parted with Wilder.
Fresh start
His next challenge shouldn’t be too far in the future though and Celtic should pounce for the 53-year-old.
Wilder is a taskmaster and perfectionist, ingredients which could make him the perfect incumbent to lead Celtic into the future.
Celtic have lost their way badly and too many Hoops players need an injection of confidence.

With all due respect to some of the players who scaled glorious heights with Sheffield United, none of them were world-beaters.
He is a master of squeezing every last drop of ability out his players and his superb man-management qualities could give the whole club a lift.
Wilder won’t be short of suitors and Celtic must move quickly.
