Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson is reportedly attracting interest from three unnamed Premier League clubs ahead of the January transfer window and Arsenal need to ensure they are in the mix for his signature.

According to Sky Sports, there are three top-flight clubs in England that are chasing a deal to try sign the 26-year-old next month.

The report state that French side Marseille want at least £22.5million for his sale, as well as explaining that he “almost” left them in the summer.

With Ligue 1 clubs in France losing revenue due to the league’s main broadcaster stopping payment in October, there is a fear that some top players from the division could be on the move.

Arsenal were reportedly named as potential suitors for Sanson back in the summer window, as Le10 Sport claimed in August that they were interested in bringing him to the Emirates Stadium.

The 10-time capped France international remained with Marseille beyond the window, but speculation about his future has resurfaced and Mikel Arteta’s team should reignite interest by joining the hunt for him now.

Sanson is a highly-rated talent that has been particularly impressive in French football during the last few years and definitely has the quality to make an impact in the Premier League if given the chance.

He is an all-action central midfielder that is aggressive in his defensive work, but it’s his creativity and technical ability that should attract Arsenal to him.

The Frenchman has two goals and three assists this season in all competitions so far and he’s someone that can contribute going forward from the centre of the park.

Aged 26, there is every chance he could be entering his peak and make an immediate impact at Arsenal, something they so badly need come the January window.

Arteta’s team are struggling sat 15th in the Premier League table and it’s clear that creativity going forward is what they’re crying out for, so signing an attack-minded midfielder should be a priority for them next month.

Sanson’s got a style of play where he drives forward in possession and can draw fouls, which is something the likes of Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny rarely do.
