TBR View: Arsenal must make January move for Emi Buendia

Arsenal were beaten once again last night and the need to complete a deal to sign Emi Buendia now seems more obvious than ever.

The Gunners lost 1-0 to Burnley at the Emirates Stadium and keeping up with a common theme in recent weeks, failed to really create anything.

Whilst Arsenal continue to struggle, the 23-year-old playmaker continues to thrive in the second tier.

Buendia originally arrived in the summer of 2018. He scored eight goals and registered 17 assists as the Canaries won promotion to the Premier League.

Last season, Norwich’s relegation was in no way down to the form of the Argentine. He claimed eight assists, although he did score just once.

This season he missed the first three games of the campaign but he’s still managed four goals and six assists from his 14 appearances.

Although Norwich are flying high in the Championship, Buendia will naturally hope to return to the Premier League.

Buendia can play on either flank or as a No.10 and has been particularly impressive during the last month.

Norwich are likely to want in the region of £20 million for Buendia and that could represent decent business for Arsenal.

At 23 there is plenty of time for the former Argentina under-2o star to develop and he could thrive at Arsenal.

The Gunners desperately need a spark to come from somewhere and right now, it doesn’t look like coming from within.

With that in mind, a foray into the transfer market could be required and why not Buendia?

He fits the billing of an Arsenal player superbly well and has already proved that he is capable of contributing to goals in the Premier League.

Arsenal should prepare to pounce in January.
